Top 5 kid-friendly activities in Ocean City, Maryland

-
Boating
First of all, family members of all ages, from 1 to 100, will love being on the water in Ocean City. More adventurous types might try kayaking, while those who want to relax should opt to spend the day on the pontoon boat. For kids who get a little restless, we have a few ideas for playing games and staying occupied on the boat!
If you do rent one of our pontoon boats, come hungry — there are plenty of kid-friendly restaurants on Ocean City’s bayside that you can access by boat! Fish Tales and De Lazy Lizard even have their own playgrounds.
-
Beach and Boardwalk
This might seem a bit obvious, but there is unlimited fun to be had by kids of all ages on Ocean City’s free beach and Boardwalk. Build sandcastles by the ocean, or buy a cheap boogie board from one of the Boardwalk shops and spend the day riding the waves. The Boardwalk itself is a landmark for all ages to enjoy, but activities like Ripley’s Believe It Or Not, Virtual Reality centers and the Life-Saving Station Museum (which offers daily kids’ programs in the summer) make it especially welcoming to children.
-
Paddle boarding
Our stand-up paddleboards are suitable for all ages and experience levels! As long as your kids don’t mind getting a little wet, they’ll have a blast adventuring on our SUPs. We launch from shallow water, where it’s easy to practice standing and balancing before paddling farther into the bay. Just come in your bathing suit and everything else, including life jackets and a lesson on paddle boarding, will be provided.
-
Mini golf
From Old Pro to Lost Treasure to Nick’s, there are tons of mini golf courses in Ocean City. Whether you’re lodging downtown, midtown or in North Ocean City, you’re never far from a fun, themed golf course. Putt-putt with dinosaurs, sea creatures, dragons or pirates. There are even several indoor courses in town, making this the perfect kid-friendly activity for a rainy day.

Snacking!
Ocean City is home to all kinds of sugary snacks, including iconic Boardwalk fare like caramel popcorn, ice cream, funnel cake and delicious, freshly-made donuts. Maybe this isn’t an activity per se, but it’ll certainly make your kids happy. We even have our own sugary snack at Odyssea — snowballs at our brand new snowball stand! Stop by whenever you’d like and enjoy a refreshing, ice-cold treat before your adventure on the water begins.
